Al Benoit

Al’s love for storytelling started in the backseat of his grandma’s car.

Every Sunday, they had a standing date—lunch at a diner, where she’d stuff extra bread into her purse so they could feed the ducks at the pond, followed by a trip to the movies. On the drive home, she’d ask the same question:

"So, the movie ended, yes, but if it continued, what would you do with it? How would you keep the story going?"

That was the deal—if Al wanted to see a movie, he had to dream up what happened next. That little game turned into a lifelong obsession with storytelling—one that led him to directing and editing.

Born and raised in Chicago, Al studied film at Columbia College, where he spent his time soaking up movies, shooting whatever he could, and learning the fundamentals of storytelling. After college, he made the jump to Los Angeles, diving headfirst into the hustle of trying to make it as a creative. It was rough—balancing passion projects with paying rent, learning the industry while figuring out himself—but it shaped him. It made him relentless. He found a way to carve out a space for himself as both an editor and director, working with Kim Kardashian, Nick Jonas, Liv Tyler, Urban Outfitters, Pepsi, Volvo, and more.

Then came New York—a reset, a rebuild, and ultimately, a revival of his love for the craft. This city stripped everything down and built him back up. It reminded him why he fell in love with filmmaking in the first place.

Al is driven by the need to create work that feels human, raw, and real. Whether working with actors, celebrities, or first-timers, his approach is about finding the truth in a frame and pulling out the best performance. Every project—narrative or branded—is treated with the same care, sensitivity, and artistic expression.

With an ever-curious eye and an endless hunger for the craft, Al’s at his best when he’s running around creating.
